Job Description:

  • Supports the work package "Electrical Systems Engineering - On-Board Data Acquisition and Processing (OBDH)" for spacecraft and deliveries of related elements (hardware, firmware, models, documentation).
  • Serves as the point of contact for OBDH topics within the project team, with the customer, and with suppliers.
  • Responsible for collaboration with suppliers for electronic components and subsystems such as data acquisition, mass storage, central computer, instrument and payload computer, remote terminals, and interface units, as well as ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Responsible for supporting/conducting early feasibility and demonstration studies (Phase 0, A, B1) for spacecraft or instruments.
  • Member of the electrical team in the development, manufacturing, qualification, and final acceptance of payloads, devices, instruments, and complete satellites (project phases B2, C, D, E).
  • Participates in the analysis of customer and system requirements within the electrical team and derives functional chains and electrical subsystem requirements for data acquisition, transmission, and processing.
  • Responsible for the hardware implementation, verification, and validation of algorithms (e.g. in FPGAs) in close coordination with algorithm developers, software, instrument, and application developers.
