    Lizardos is the largest Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) Engineering firm on Long Island.     The secret to our success is simple. We are not cookbook engineers. Our projects are interesting, varied and challenging. Our staff has the knowledge and talent to design outside the box, and we offer weekly in-house lunch and learn sessions to keep them up to date on equipment and solutions.

    Our Mineola (Western Nassau) location is convenient by car or by Long Island Railroad. We are minutes from the LIE, Northern State, and Meadowbrook Parkways and a 3-minute walk to the Long Island Railroad Mineola station. Our office has a six-story parking garage with enclosed access directly into the building.

    We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join or growing team. The mechanical engineers at Lizardos survey and design the HVAC systems and prepare schematics, one-line diagrams, contract documents, and reports. Our Senior Mechanical Engineers are expected to have superior project-management skills.

    Sr. Mechanical (HVAC) Engineer Requirements

    • Licensed Professional Engineer
    • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering program
    • 10+ years' experience working in a consulting engineering firm
    • Design experience in HVAC systems
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Project Management Skills

    Position requires a solid technical background, excellence in design – attention to detail and quality control, and client contact.
