- Large Gift Acquisitions: Identify and foster relationships with major donors, community partners, corporations, and foundations. Develop personalized stewardship plans to engage donors and secure ongoing support. Lead efforts to expand the donor base through targeted outreach and cultivation.
- Communications Alignment + Marketing Strategy: Collaborate with leaders and the board to align donor communications and messaging. Develop a strategy in line with organizational objectives. Work closely with a social media coordinator and graphic designer to maintain a consistent brand image and messaging. Represent the organization at events, podcasts, and public engagements.
- Development Strategy: Create a comprehensive strategy leveraging the team and board to meet financial goals, including campaign creation. Establish and manage a fundraising plan that aligns with the organization's mission and financial needs. Identify new funding opportunities, revenue streams, and innovative fundraising methods. Monitor fundraising trends and adjust strategies for optimal donor engagement and support.
- Team Leadership and Management: Build, oversee, and mentor a high-performing development team. Provide guidance and support to achieve fundraising objectives. Collaborate with other departments to incorporate development strategies into overall organizational plans. Cultivate a culture of philanthropy and fundraising excellence organization-wide. Utilize the strengths of the board members to align with the organization's strategy.
- Grant Writing and Proposal Development: Supervise the grant application process, ensuring timely and high-quality submissions. Work closely with program staff to create compelling proposals and grant applications.
- Financial Oversight: Collaborate with finance and leadership to set fundraising targets and budgets. Monitor fundraising metrics and financial reports to assess progress and make data-driven decisions.
- Bachelor's Degree or higher
- 5+ years of experience in fundraising and 10+ years in leadership roles
- Deep knowledge of fundraising techniques, donor relations, and development
