    Senior Leadership Gifts Officer

    This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Philanthropy, the Senior Leadership Gifts Officer will develop and oversee implementation of fundraising programs for annual giving leadership program, PA tax credit program, and manage a portfolio of prospects and donors.

    Key Responsibilities

    Portfolio Management:
    • Coordinate cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities for Leadership Council ($1,894+) prospects and Young Alumni Leaders prospects, in concert with Prospect Managers.
    • Manage a portfolio of up to 150 annual giving prospects, providing ongoing stewardship and cultivation.
    • Manage a portfolio of corporate annual giving prospects, providing ongoing stewardship and cultivation.
    • Spend 80% of time planning and executing "meaningful connections" with prospects: face-to-face; virtually; in a phone conversation; and/or through an email exchange.
    • Strive for a quarterly contact with each prospect, with a goal of at least two meaningful connections per year.
    • Ensure that appropriate and timely steps are taken to move prospects through cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship cycles
    Leadership Council Annual Giving program:
    • Direct the Leadership Council annual giving program
    • Qualifies, cultivates, and solicits Shipley alumni, parents, and friends capable of making gifts in the $1,894 or more, retaining and increasing giving from existing donors.
    • Alongside the Assistant Director, Annual Giving, and in partnership with the Marketing and Communications Office, devise and own marketing and communication efforts for the Leadership Council.
    • Collaborates with the Stewardship Coordinator to devise meaningful stewardship opportunities for the Leadership Council, including thank you events and tailored impact communications.
    • Works with the Director of Advancement Services on reporting that will track Leadership Council progress to goal, performance metrics, growth trajectory and other metrics needed to assess program health.
    PA Tax Credit program:
    • Direct the PA Tax Credit program.
    • Design and implement a comprehensive marketing and stewardship program for the PA Tax Credit program.
    • Build and maintain relationships with Special Purpose Entities.
    • With the Business Office, ensure accurate record-keeping of PA Tax Credit commitments to Shipley.
    Corporate Giving:
    • Direct the corporate sponsorship program.
    • Coordinate outreach efforts with the Engagement team and volunteer committee members.
    • Solicit and steward the majority of corporate sponsorship gifts as part of a comprehensive corporate partnership program. Maintain relationships with key contacts through cultivation and stewardship activities.
    General Responsibilities
    • Educate constituents about the importance of supporting the school.
    • Manage annual travel budget.
    • Support and staff events run by the Development Office, including but not limited to Day of Giving, Secret Gardens, and Alumni Reunion Weekend.
    Qualifications and Expectations

    Candidates will be hired into either a Senior Leadership Gift Officer or Leadership Gift Officer role based on experience and professional qualifications. Qualifications in this job description are reflective of the Senior Leadership Gift Officer.

    • Ability to understand the needs and interests of major gift donors in order to develop relationships between them and the school

    • Successful experience in making cold calls as well as developing cultivation and solicitation strategies
    • Knowledge of the PA tax credit program
    • Personal and professional integrity as well as respect for the confidentiality of colleagues and constituents

    • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
    • Excellent quantity, quality, accuracy, and timeliness of work produced

    • Proficiency in use of technology: Raiser's Edge database and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
    • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
    • Ability and willingness to travel locally, regionally, and nationally as appropriate
