- Achieve production goals in terms of quality and quantity, managing workload priorities, and maintaining accurate documentation
- Ensure proper inventory management practices are followed throughout manufacturing and distribution processes
- Handle data entry and utilize relevant computer programs for component production, labeling, storage, and sample tube management
- Make decisions based on visual inspections and inputs from other departments to meet deadlines
- Execute complex manufacturing duties such as pooled product manufacturing, freeze, wash, or deglycerolizing of blood products, and pathogen reduction
- Establish effective communication with internal customers, vendors, and volunteers
- High School diploma or equivalent is required
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a regulatory, laboratory, or manufacturing setting is preferred
- Proficiency in computer skills, operation of various programs and laboratory equipment, meticulous attention to detail, accurate documentation, and strong decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication skills, with a capacity to collaborate within a team or work independently with minimal supervision

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
Embark on a role where you'll be involved in the production of blood products and samples. Your responsibilities will revolve around processing received blood units from donors. This will include tasks such as scanning units, converting units into transfusable components, and conducting necessary procedures like leukoreduction.
As part of the Red Cross team, it's crucial to support your fellow team members by showing up for every shift and giving your best effort. Interact positively, proactively, and with a customer-centric approach towards both internal and external stakeholders, showcasing care and empathy at all times.

This position will be based at our new location in Maryland Heights, MO with a standard schedule of Tue-Sat from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm and a pay rate of $18.75 per hour. During the initial phase, paid training will be provided on a full-time basis.

Physical Requirements:
The role entails manual tasks such as using hands for handling, lifting objects weighing 10-50lbs without assistance, pushing carts up to 100 pounds, standing for extended periods, and more. The ability to endure varying temperatures typical of a blood banking environment is essential.
