    Responsibilities for SDC:

  • Develop, evaluate, and control the quality of in-service educational programs in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Provide education, in-service training, educational guidance, and support to the facility.
  • Provide leadership in formulating the goals and objectives of the in-service educational programs of this facility.
  • Secure, develop and maintains records, reports, instructional manuals, reference materials, etc., pertinent to in-service educational programs.
  • Develop and participate in planning and conducting orientation programs that orients newly hired employees to their position, policies and procedures, resident rights, and responsibilities, etc.
  • Develop, implement, and review the ongoing educational programs for nursing staff.
  • Coordinate and implement ongoing in-service training for all staff including but not limited to infection control, fall prevention and resident rights.
  • Assist in the evaluation process of nursing staff during the orientation period and on an ongoing basis. Maintain a program of continuing education to keep abreast of new trends in nursing care and procedures.
  • Qualifications for SDC:

  • Licensed RN in MA with a minimum of 3+ years' experience in a long-term care setting.
  • Excellent teaching, organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of infection control and nursing education.
  • Infection Preventionist Certification preferred
  • Strong knowledge of policy, procedures, and regulations of skilled nursing center.
