    What You'll Contribute

    Sallie Mae is seeking an Associate to join the Operations Command Center. This role will report to the Chief of Staff and support a variety of management and governance routines that span the Company's largest division. The Command Center Associate will work closely with the Chief of Staff and senior leaders in strengthening the oversight of the division's budget oversight and annual routines. As the new role evolves, the successful incumbent will have the opportunity to be involved in and inform a variety of processes and governance routines to support well-managed operations through the Command Center.

    To succeed in this role, the incumbent should have the ability to deliver business as usual responsibilities while also remaining nimble to support shifting priorities. This role affords exposure to many facets of department management and the opportunity to work with executives, business partners, and other related stakeholders across the organization.

    What You'll Do

    Governance Support

  • Support the management and oversight of the division budget.
  • Support the implementation of new and strengthening of existing reporting/oversight activities.
  • Support the Chief of Staff on the creation and delivery of leader interaction activities.
  • Support the planning and delivery of associate events/engagement activities.
  • Engage in and inform efforts that drive the team to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Create resources to support and inform our leaders and associates.

    • Command Center Support

  • Supports processes & projects related to the Operations department, our department goals, and strategic imperatives.
  • Informs and supports processes to drive efficiency and consistency.
  • Supports a culture of service, professionalism, and continuous improvement across the Operations department.
  • Leverages Microsoft tools (e.g., SharePoint, planner, lists) as appropriate to implement efficiencies in collaboration and delivery.

    • What you have

    Minimum education, skills and experience required.

  • Associate degree in communications, business, a similar field of study, or relevant work experience.
  • 2+ years successful work experience in a corporate environment
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Self-starter with a drive for near-flawless delivery.
  • Effective organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite of tools, especially Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work with sensitive and confidential matters.

    • Preferred education, skills, and experience.

  • Past experience supporting governance functions
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, engineering, or a related field.
