Who You'll Work With
You will collaborate with a team of engineers as a hands-on contributor, involved in designing and managing our expanding global network infrastructure. Working closely with architects, developers, and vendors across Cisco, you will play a vital role in solving complex challenges throughout the product development process.

As part of our team, you will be responsible for designing the hardware for the Cisco 8000 series routers to ensure top quality and maximum power efficiency, utilizing groundbreaking serdes technology to achieve the highest possible bit rates. Your duties will range from hardware definition and design to qualification and final product release to our customers.
Primary responsibilities:
- Utilize Cadence/Allegro for developing and capturing schematics.
- Lead the layout and routing phase of the design.
- Create hardware specs, develop test plans, and collaborate with ASIC teams in hardware bring-up.
- Debug issues in the lab using analyzers and scopes.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
- 6+ years of experience in system level development, preferably in the server/computer/network sector.
- Expertise in Ethernet, high-speed serdes (>10G) interfaces, high-speed design, and signal integrity.
- Hands-on experience in board design, familiarity with design tools including Cadence Concept and Allegro.
- Proficiency in lab bring-up and product design validation.
- Previous experience in shipping products.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in X86 architecture, with a deep understanding of control interfaces like PCIe, MDIO, SPI, I2C.
- Strong work ethic in translating high-level requirements into actionable milestones.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with various disciplines, including software, mechanical, and signal integrity teams.
