- Oversee the School Safety Grant and ensure compliance.
- Hires, trains, supervises and evaluates the team of Social Workers and School Counselors to meet the needs of the schools they serve.
- Supports the team that provides intervention services with children and families that may include assessment, individual short-term or crisis counseling, group instruction, support groups, and home visitation.
- Provides consultation, training, and updated resource information to staff on intervention issues through Professional Development.
- Interacts effectively with the team of Social Workers, School Counselors and School Leaders to provide services to schools.
- Interacts effectively with other agencies or professionals in order to establish and implement a referral system as a support to the children and families.
- Oversees the establishment of a referral list of community resources for each campus.
- Works with school level social workers and school counselors in helping to resolve truancy issues.
- Makes school visits regularly to understand school-based challenges in order to effectively support the needs of the school.
- Maintains close communication with building administration, school staff and other staff as needed.
- Documents and evaluates the effectiveness of services provided.
- Follows policies, procedures, and directives in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Identifies and assesses ongoing challenges the campuses are facing due to emotional, behavioral, social, physical, economic, cultural, or family difficulties and ensures that appropriate resources are being provided.
- Performs other tasks as may be assigned.
- Five years of K-12 teaching, social work, school counseling or related experience
- Five years experience leading a team that includes ongoing support and professional development (preferred)
- Knowledge of relevant technology, Synergy, Google Workspace (G Suite), Microsoft Excel
- IVP Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
- One of the following certifications/licenses:
- Licensed in Social Work by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners (LMSW/LCSW).
- Licensed as a Professional Counselor by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners.
- Licensed as a Guidance Counselor by the Arizona Department of Education
- Licensed as a School Social Worker by the Arizona Department of Education

POSITION TITLE: Director of Student Wellness and Campus Safety
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The Director of Student Wellness and Campus Safety is responsible for coordinating and providing school site support to the counseling, social work, and student success teams on all campuses. The Director will assist in developing appropriate processes related to behavioral and academic success, referrals for families, and supervising and facilitating on-site prevention services and professional development.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (positions in this class typically require):
Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, odors, chemicals, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, and intense noises.
