- Work directly with the Assistant Controller to manage the month-end close process and ensure the accuracy of monthly and annual internal and external financial statements, including Income Statements, Balance Sheets, and Statements of Cash Flows in accordance with GAAP
- Accountable for the reconciliation of the trial balance and general ledger on a monthly basis, including the preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Build and lead a high-performing accounting team to ensure all objectives and goals are planned accordingly and are being attained
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities for team members and foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment
- Lead the AR and AP teams to ensure timely billing, cash application, and payments to suppliers
- Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations to improve financial performance
- Responsible for tax compliance with all federal, state, and local authorities and all related areas
- Provide strategic financial leadership and guidance to the executive team and other stakeholders
- Partner with FP&A to develop standardized reporting packages and business intelligence dashboards/reporting that provide actionable insights to the organization
- Develop and lead process improvement, efficiency, and automation opportunities within the accounting groups
- Develop, maintain, and/or implement financial plans, policies, and procedures to support the company's goals and objectives
- Build a strong internal control structure to ensure compliance and accurate, timely, reliable issuance of internal/external financial reporting and reviews
- Represent the Company in interim and year-end financial and/or regulatory audits and oversee the preparation of all documentation for these processes
- Fully understand all business processes and related ERP system flows and postings to the general ledger to ensure they are in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Work with the Sales and Operations departments on efficient process flows that support company initiatives and achieve financial targets
- Recommend changes in financial processes that will lead to increased profitability and efficiency improvements

Compensation: $160,300 - $232,500
Job Summary:
The Controller oversees all aspects of the company's accounting functions, financial reporting, and compliance. This leadership role will report to the VP of Finance and Accounting and collaborates with cross-functional teams to drive financial success and ensure the company's financial health. This position will ensure the accuracy of monthly financials, build and develop cohesive teams, and oversee department processes and procedures. The Controller will always emphasize continuous improvement and drive efficiencies/automation to scale as we grow. In addition to oversight of the Financial Accounting functions, the Controller will oversee the Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Tax Compliance areas.
Responsibilities/Duties:
In 1979, Joe Novogratz founded IDI with a mission: build an insulation distribution company that would supply the market with a wide selection of quality insulation and act as a true, professional resource for independent contractors. For the past 40 years, IDI has grown from 1 location in Minnesota, to 60 U.S. locations, more than 1,500,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space, over 200 trucks making daily insulation deliveries, over $75,000,000 of inventory in our warehouses, and over 8.5 million miles driven by our drivers.
