    Position Overview:

    This position is a critical role within the site management team of FTGs Circuits Minnetonka, MN site, which is a manufacturer of high technology, high reliability printed circuit boards for aerospace and defense markets. The Controller is responsible for the preparation and analysis of the sites financial results and provides financial direction to the site and recommendations to improve site performance.

    This position reports to the Executive VP of FTG Circuits, and also supports FTGs Corporate Office in Toronto, Canada.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    Accounting

    • Month-end closing activities related to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Costing, Inventories, and general accounting
    • Implement a standard cost system at the site, with guidance and support
    • Assists in implementing and maintaining adequate internal controls throughout the operation, including compliance with FTG policies and procedures

    Operational management

    • Monitor and maintain cash and working capital levels
    • Follow up on outstanding receivables, claims, and other customer issues
    • Monitor expenditure against plan and support department managers in understanding and controlling department costs

    Planning, Analysis and Reporting

    • Prepare monthly financial packages, analyze and present monthly financial results to site and corporate management
    • Supports the annual site financial planning process

    External Reporting

    • Supports external financial reporting for a public company including rigorous analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual financial results, and external audits.

    Systems

    • Support the ERP implementation to completion, and ensure that various stakeholders have timely access to reliable data for decision support

    Qualifications/Skills:

    • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation
    • This is a hands-on position supported by a nimble team, which requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic and analytical ability
    • Able to communicate and present effectively with staff, peers, local and corporate leadership
    • High level of initiative to identify weaknesses in processes, make recommendations and implement improvements
    • Experience with ERP implementation projects is a plus

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field and a professional designation
    • Financial management experience (7+ years) in the manufacturing sector, including experience with costing of manufactured products
