  • The Bureau of Administration is committed to delivering strategic support services to strengthen and empower Office of the New York City Comptroller employees as they work toward ensuring the City's fiscal health. We provide service and support in a manner that promotes communication, transparency, and collaboration. These services include Human Resources, Procurement, Payment, Facilities Management, and Budget Management.
  • Reporting to the Deputy Comptroller for Administration, the core responsibilities of the Assistant Comptroller for Operations include overseeing all aspects of operations, including Facilities Management, Emergency Management, Client Intake and Document Management and centrally managed administrative/IT purchasing. This role is critical for the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to optimize efficiency, ensure compliance, and enhance the overall performance of our organization.
  • Lead and oversee the Operations team, including Facilities Management, Emergency Management, Client Intake and Document Management and centrally managed administrative/IT purchasing.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to optimize operational efficiency, streamline processes, and improve overall performance with compliance to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and organizational policies.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to Operations staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the Facilities Management activities, including the maintenance and repairs of the building, renovations, capital improvement projects to ensure safety and functionality, space planning, occupancy management, preparation of mail distribution, and the management of office supplies.
  • Provide leadership and guidance during emergency response and recovery operations, ensuring the timely and effective deployment of resources, personnel, and services to mitigate impacts and restore normal operations.
  • Oversee the daytoday operations of the Client Intake and Document Management, including document scanning, indexing, archiving, and retrieval processes.
  • Lead all aspects of the organization's centrally managed administrative and IT purchasing functions, overseeing a team of procurement and budget professionals to understand centrally managed procurement needs and priorities and to direct available resources to those priorities.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and operational excellence.
  • Monitor key performance metrics and benchmarks to track progress, identify areas for improvement and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Performing other related tasks and responsibilities as may be required.
Minimum Qualifications1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and a minimum of four (4) or more years of satisfactory full-time experience in an executive, administrative, or managerial capacity in the areas related to the assignment; or,

Preferred Skills- Proven experience in operations management, with a minimum of 10 years of experience. Relevant experience includes Facilities Management, Emergency Management, Purchasing, Budgeting, and/or comparable operations management. - Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals and objectives. - Excellent strategic planning, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. - Demonstrated ability to use data to drive performance. - Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
