    Overview:

    O'Leary Construction is seeking an experienced Estimator with a background in heavy civil construction projects. We specialize in excavation and concrete work for clients like Con Ed and National Grid, so we are looking for an estimator with experience bidding large scale utility projects.

    Responsibilities Include:

    • Analyze bid documents and project plans to gain thorough understanding of project
    • Create labor, equipment and material cost and production estimates
    • Review and manage bids from vendors and subcontractors
    • Utilize bid data to prepare a cost analysis and proposal
    • Present prepared estimates to management and participate in client project negotiations
    • Create project schedules to submit with the bid and update when necessary
    • Travel required to various pre-bid site meetings

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree or higher
    • 3-5 years of experience in heavy civil construction estimating
    • Excellent analytical skills and attention to details
    • Proficient math and geometry skills
    • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents
    • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
    • Efficient time management skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft office suite and Microsoft project for scheduling
    • Demonstrated knowledge of construction, engineering, and architecture principles
    • Experience working with Con Edison, preferred

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $90, $140,000.00 per year
