Civil Construction Estimator - Union, United States - Team REIL, Inc.

Description

The Construction Estimator will:

- develop cost-based estimates for projects to be submitted to owners/architects
- complete quantity takeoffs and earthwork calculations
- bid jobs within company scope and specialization; emphasis on government bidding documentation (90% Government / 10% Other)
- ensure that specifications are followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget
- demonstrate excellent and professional oral and written communication skills


The position of Construction Estimator is:

• professionally exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act

- primarily an office/field non-manual labor position
- a position which must demonstrate knowledge acquired by a prolonged course of specialized intellectual instruction.
- a position which must demonstrate knowledge acquired through 5 or more years of actual assistance or supervision on the estimation of projects of increasing complexity.


Essential functions and or duties of the above-named position include but are not limited to:

• Utilization of appropriate construction listing services for job procurement
• Selection and coordination of subcontractors to work on various phases of projects.
• Performance oversight of all trade contractors and review architectural and engineering drawings to make sure that all specifications and regulations are followed.
• Administration of construction contracts, submittals, change orders and other associated documents in an accurate and timely manner.
• Track and control construction schedules and associated costs to achieve completion of project within time and monies allocated.
• Administration of all project purchasing ensuring labor and materials remain within budget.
• Timely and accurate reporting to owners and architects regarding progress; including all plan modifications.
• Demonstration of ongoing ability and willingness to work under pressure, coordinate numerous simultaneous activities, and coordinate various groups of people to ensure professional cooperation and maximum efficiency.

Experience:

Construction Estimating: 3 years (preferred)

• Bid to Win and Procore experience a plus
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering a plus
