SUMMARY

The
Banquet Server ("Servidor de Banquetes") position provides a courteous, timely and professional service in the restaurant, shows complete knowledge of all menus and pricing, as well as a proactive, customer-oriented attitude.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Cordially and professionally presents food items during banquet events, answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding food and service.
  • Assures gusset satisfaction by delivering prompt, consistent service in a friendly, efficient, and professional manner.
  • Actively observes guests to respond to any additional requests and to determine when meals have been completed and additional service is required.
  • Know all pertinent information about the hotel and its services. Be able to answer any questions regarding these services.
  • Follows required sanitation policies.
  • Is responsible for complete knowledge of menus, including cooking time, ingredients, etc.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 12 years of relevant experience and/or training.
  • Previous similar position in a restaurant or hotel is preferred.
  • Experience in dealing with the public is required, such as customer service in retail, food & beverage, hospitality, etc.
  • Availability to work on weekends and holidays is required.
  • Current industry certifications required: Food Handlers Certification & RBS Certification. Must have a good knowledge of service, food, beverage, and wine is proficient in knowledge and service of bottled wine
- is experienced in service and order taking of cocktails.

  • Must be able to lift heavy trays (10 entrees per tray)
  • Ability to maintain a friendly, teamoriented, positive attitude and a professional appearance at all times.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift and lift up to 25 lbs.
  • The following position will be filled in accordance with the process set forth in California Labor Code Section and San Diego Municipal Code et. seq.
