The
Reentry Coach (the Coach) performs a wide range of critical roles to ensure the successful operation of a reentry focused multi-service center (Center).

The Coach is responsible for coordinating the Center's delivery of critical reentry services to formerly incarcerated residents of Contra Costa County.

In collaboration with Center staff and partners, the Reentry Coach fosters client engagement, service planning, performance management, and client retention support.

By engaging clients, partners, and other stakeholders in the community, the Reentry Coach is able to develop successful partnerships and processes that effectively promote success for the Center's clients and partners alike.

Frequently the Coach serves as a "first contact" for clients as they begin to engage with services from the Center and may serve as a "problem solver" to help improve service delivery for clients or partners.

The Reentry Coach plays an important role in helping the Site Manager set and maintain the Center's welcoming culture of acceptance, inclusion, restoration and collective excellence.

This Reentry Coach reports to the Lead Reentry Coach or Site Manager. Working evenings and on weekends may be required for this role. Contra Costa County residents and formerly incarcerated individuals are strongly encouraged to apply.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Coaching and group facilitation: Serve as a welcoming, positive, and empathetic point of contact with clients as they engage with the Center; provide informational orientations about the Center and its work for clients, partners, and others; conduct one-on-one meetings with clients; provide honest, productive feedback and supportive guidanceto help clients identify priorities; schedule clients for program activities; design, coordinate, and lead orientations sessions, workshops, trainings and/or support groups.

Partnership support:Serve as the primary point of contact for RSC partners in their direct-service work with clients, supporting smooth and coordinated development and implementation of client service plans; help address day-to-day logístical or collaborative experienced by partners(either between partners or between a partner & client); help partners make appropriate referrals to needed services(both on-site & off-site); as needed coordinate and participate in collaborative case conference meetings.

Data gathering and use: Gather and enter appropriate client data at each "touch point" along a client's journey, and support partners in the collection and reporting of information related to shared service delivery objectives.

Outreach: Serve as an external ambassador capable of representing the Center in public forums and at external events in the community; provide community members and stakeholders with information about the Centerand directly connect with clients and prosective clients at places other than the Center(including inside the County jails, community based settings, neighborhood councils, faith-based partners, and others.)


COMPETENCIES

  • Extensive experience and expertise working with the reentry population ir ther people facing complex challenges; includes initiative and a strong set of interpersonal skills in problem solving, negotiation and conflict resolution, and a high tolerance for ambiguity and composure in difficult situations.
  • Solid Administrtive skills including attention to detail, accuracy and procedure; data gathering and entry; and the proficient use of webbased databases and Microsoft Office software.
  • Regular travel throughout Contra Costa County is required and therefore proof of a valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report is required.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- $25-$28/hr DOE
