Rubicon transforms East Bay communities by equipping people to break the cycle of poverty.

The WIOA
Career Coach reports to the WIOA Team Supervisor, and serves on a team of Career Coaches providing employment services to economically disadvantaged populations through the Contra Costa Workforce Collaborative's Active Collaboration Through Innovation, Opportunities, and Networking (ACTION) model.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Case management/Coaching: Conduct intake interviews, eligibility determination, preemployment preparation, and advocacy; ensure participant accesses all needed services. Assess participant needs and collaborate with the participant to develop and follow a selfsufficiency plan; motivate the participant to achieve career goals and provide the participant with honest, productive feedback.
  • Job placement and retention: Develop employer contacts and referral sources and generate job leads; market services; make job placements and provide postplacement support to participants and employers; participate in employer recruitment events; job fairs, and networking events.
  • Group facilitation/instruction: Facilitate workshops, discussion groups and/or classes on employment readiness topics including but not limited to resume development, job search skills, career assessment, exploration and planning.
  • Data management: Develop a strong understanding of standard operating procedures; Document customer interactions using CRM systems, including Cal Jobs, and protect and maintain customer confidentiality and case record compliance.

COMPETENCIES

  • Solid job development, career coaching and case management experience and expertise.
  • Teamwork, interpersonal flexibility, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to inspire others; Ability to maintain professional partnerships and relations.
  • Solid workshop facilitation skills and abilities.
  • Computer and internet literacy, including Microsoft Office proficiency, experience with CRM systems helpful.
  • This position requires occasional travel to appointments and other Rubicon meetings; if the employee opts to meet these travel requirements by driving, proof of a valid and current driver license, current auto insurance, and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report are required.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- $25-$28/hr DOE.

  • 3 weeks paid vacation and sick leave, 13 paid holidays.
  • 4 days paid restorative holiday between Christmas and New Years.
