    Summary

    This vacancy is for an IT Cybersecurity Specialist (Direct Hire) in the Bureau of Industry and Security within the Department of Commerce.

    Duties

    The duties described below are at the highest grade advertised. The duties assigned at lower grade levels will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity; duties will be commensurate with the grade of selected employee

    As an IT Cybersecurity Specialist (Direct Hire), you will perform the following duties:
  • Managing digital and hardware platforms and working with clients and customers to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve problems, and/or satisfy their expectations in order to provide quality products and services.
  • Ensuring configuration management process and procedures are followed using application and system enhancements and modifications from an Agile DevSecOps framework.
  • Leading multi-agency working groups or task forces and federal and contractor staff on development, installation, system integration and configuration, testing and acceptance, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting, end user assistance and training, information security, and system/database administration.
  • Managing/leading and analyzing business processes and workflow procedures; gathering information from consultation with managers and individual users, studies work products, and observing work processes to ensure the timely.
  • Provides technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other technical specialist and to plan, organize, and direct team study work and to negotiate effectively with management to accept and implement recommendations.
