Description

Duties:


  • Performs the full range of activities relating to IT cyber engineering and protection to include ingarrison support, trip site support, and continuity of operations locations.
  • Performs strategic planning; capital planning and investment control; resource management; architecture and infrastructure planning and management; technology insertion/modernization.
  • Serves as an expert advisor to the ETD Director, WHMO chief information officer on policy development, coordination, and implementation.
  • Performs work involving the planning, installation, configuration, testing, implementation, and management of the WHMO Command and Control Network.

  • This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
  • Recall/On Call 24/7 Position
  • This is a Top Secret/SCI position with Yankee White.
  • This position may require occasional TDY travel.

Qualifying Experience:


To qualify at the GG-14, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position.

Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.

For this position, qualifying experience is defined as:Experience in developing technical and administrative functions for a team of cybersecurity, IT, and network specialists, while overseeing and guiding contractor work.*
  • Additionally, prior to reporting for duty the selectee must be found eligible for a DoD Top Secret security clearance with access to Special Compartmented Information (SCI) based upon an Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI), AND be approved for Presidential Support Duty in accordance with Department of Defense Directive Yankee White
  • Category II, minimum).
  • This is an Excepted Service position and does not confer eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service.
  • If you are a current Federal Career/Career-Conditional employee, you will be placed on an Excepted appointment under 10 U.S.C. 1599f.

Education:


There is no substitution of education for the
Qualifying Experience
at the GG-14 grade level.

  • This is an Information Security (INFOSEC) position. In accordance with DoD M, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, selectee must meet Information Assurance Certification standards. Selectee must have an approved waiver prior to placement in this position or achieve the appropriate IAT certification within six months of assignment of IAT duties. Level 1 certification is required prior to being authorized unsupervised privileged access.

  • This position may be designated as Emergency Essential. Incumbent must sign a statement of understanding and an agreement to continue to perform the duties of this position in the event of a crisis until relieved by proper authority. Incumbent's dependents shall be evacuated from the crisis zone with the same priority as other DoDsponsored evacuees. You may be required, as a condition of employment, to take the series of anthrax vaccine immunizations to include annual boosters.
