- Be a trusted member of the engagement team providing tax and consulting services to clients.
- Prepare individual, corporate and partnership tax returns of varying complexities, ensuring compliance.
- Provide tax compliance and advisory services to S-corporations, partnerships, individuals, and organizations.
- Participate in tax research projects on a variety of tax issues, help draft IRS responses and address other tax authority inquiries.
- Develop recommendations for the client to consider and share with leadership to discuss and strategize.
- Collaborate with team on specialty tax practices and complicated tax matters in the state, and local, high net worth, research and development, and credits and incentives areas.
- Participate in firm-wide learning and development programs and gain knowledge from direct on the job coaching and mentoring.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and year-end estimates.
- Perform accounting/bookkeeping functions when needed.
- Increase areas responsibility as technical knowledge and proficiency.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or an undergraduate degree with sufficient coursework to sit for the CPA exam.
- 3+ years of prior experience working in the tax department of a public accounting firm.
- Excellent analytical and technical skills
- Exceptional customer services with demonstrated ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and complete projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong technology and Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, and MS word)
- Demonstrate skills in the areas of time management, communication (written and verbal), interpersonal skills, relationship building, collaboration, and problem solving.
- Professional demeanor and ability to maintain confidentiality.
