- Perform surgical operations within the approved scope of practice
- Provide comprehensive Orthopedic care services as well as follow-up care of existing conditions and management of emergency situations
- Provides pre-operative and post-operative orthopedic services, including hospital rounds for orthopedic patients
- Surgery in the Operating Room, averaging one to five (1-5) cases per day
- Conduct weekly outpatient and inpatient clinics, averaging twenty to twenty-five patients per day
- Perform hospital rounds on orthopedic patients
- Document services through appropriate notes, such as history and physical, progress notes, operative notes, and discharge summaries. Anesthesiology Service collaborates with other Services to establish guidelines for the safe administration of anesthesia and provides consultation on the monitoring and evaluation of anesthesia care management throughout the organization
- Interdisciplinary collaboration with appropriate Services through a continuous quality improvement (TQ) program to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of patient care
- The same quality of anesthetic care should be available for all patients: 24 hour a day, seven days a week (Emergency as well as elective patients and Medical and surgical patients)
- Pre-Anesthesia Evaluation and Preparation
- Expected to be on-call as necessary
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card
- Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance
- Degree: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada. This degree must have been accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association; Association of American Medical Colleges: Liaison Committee on Medical Education; Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained
- DEA License
- For all grade levels and positions, applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States
- Current BLS certification. Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred
- Must relocate to project site for the duration of the contract

Job DescriptionWe are seeking Orthopedic Surgeons to join our teams across the US. This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program. The person in this position will represent International SOS and provide the services outlined below.
The Orthopedic Surgeon is a specialty professional in the care of musculoskeletal conditions which need diagnosis and/or treatment to achieve palliation or cure for orthopedic problems. The incumbent will perform surgical procedures independently. They will manage outpatient workload, taking and sharing orthopedic call requirements. They will facilitate professional development of personnel throughout the service. Adhering to all service/facility workflow processes, procedures, protocols, and policies. Will participate in quality improvement activates, including but not limited to performance measure meetings, staff meetings, Morbidity and Mortality conference and peer review. The Orthopedic Surgeon will screen outpatients and inpatients to determine need for further care. Performs initial histories and physical examinations on inpatients and outpatients, as well as major and minor surgical procedures. The Orthopedic surgeon will prescribe medications, order diagnostic studies such as lab tests, imaging, electrocardiograms (EKGs) and enters specialty consults as needed. Each member of the Surgery Department functions as a cooperative and collegial team member with the entire medical center staff. The Orthopedic surgeon will directly supervise staff in clinical situations. Mid-level providers, RNs, LVNs on occasion and other trainees.
