- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as painting, minor carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs, to ensure the functionality and safety of the organization's facilities.
- Inspect facilities and grounds regularly to identify and address potential maintenance issues or safety hazards.
- Respond to and resolve maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and impact.
- Conduct preventative maintenance activities to minimize the risk of equipment failure or facility damage.
- Maintain the organization's grounds, including landscaping, snow removal, and litter collection, to ensure a clean and welcoming environment.
- Collaborate with the facilities management team to develop and implement maintenance schedules, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Assist with the set-up and breakdown of equipment, furniture, and facilities for special events or meetings, as needed.
- Monitor inventory levels of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment, and submit purchase requests as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations and policies, maintaining a safe working environment for all staff and visitors.
- Stay up to date on industry best practices, trends, and regulations related to facilities maintenance, and implement any necessary changes to maintain compliance and competitiveness.
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in a maintenance-related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in facilities maintenance, preferably within the specific industry of the organization.
- Strong understanding of maintenance principles, practices, and safety procedures.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair a wide range of facility-related issues.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to read & write in English; Effective communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and best practices related to facilities maintenance is a plus.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
