Through prevention, placement, and housing programs, we assist elders in finding and thriving in their own homes.     Overview:
    Hearth is seeking a passionate and forward-thinking Director of Development to join our team and drive our fundraising activities as a key leader. Working closely with the CEO, the Director of Development will develop and execute a successful fundraising strategy, focusing on identifying new funding sources and strengthening existing relationships. This role will involve liaising with the Board/Institutional Advancement Committee, providing key insights on development and communications matters.
    Major Functions:
    • Develop and Implement a Comprehensive Development Plan
    • Manage, Inspire and Lead a Team of Fundraising Professionals
    • Oversee Donor-Related Communications
    • Collaborate with the Board of Directors and CEO
    • Monitor and Analyze Fundraising Data Strategically
    • Cultivate Relationships with Stakeholders
    Duties & Responsibilities:
    Develop and Implement a Comprehensive Development Plan:
    Collaborate with the CEO to execute a comprehensive development plan covering major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, planned giving, and special events.
    Build and maintain relationships with donors, funders, government entities, and corporate partners.
    Plan and execute fundraising campaigns and events aligned with Hearth's mission and values.
    Manage, Inspire and Lead a Team of Fundraising Professionals:
    Provide leadership to the development team, offering coaching, support, and professional growth opportunities.
    Set performance goals for team members and ensure fundraising targets are met.
    Oversee Donor-Related Communications
    & Social Media
    Supervise the creation of effective donor communications and marketing materials.
    Create targeted appeals and recognition programs to engage donors and drive donations.
    Work closely with the Board of Directors and CEO
    Act as a resource on fundraising and communication matters for the Board/Institutional Advancement Committee.
    Collaborate with the CEO on prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship goals for donors and funders.
    Monitor and Analyze Fundraising Data:
    Manage Hearth's fundraising database and prepare reports to guide development strategy.
    Explore new funding avenues, including government contracts, while maintaining current partnerships.
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Master's preferred)
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, achieving multi-million-dollar goals
    • Experience in managing development teams and fostering their growth
    • Strong project management skills and results-driven mindset
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
    • Passion for social justice and advocating for underserved communities
    • Commitment to equity and collaborative work
    • Ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines with enthusiasm
