    About the Job:
    This is an opportunity for current NYS employees holding the role of Economic Development Program Specialist 2. If you are on the eligible list for this title or eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of Civil Service Law, you qualify too.

    Company:
    The role involves working under the guidance of the Vice President of Small Business and Technology Development at Capital Access.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Suites, familiarity with MS Dynamics and PeopleSoft.
    • Strong oral, written, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
    • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively.
    • Background in small business lending and interest in community economic development.
    • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
    • Experience in public speaking and outreach activities.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Establish and maintain capital relationships through consistent outreach to various stakeholders.
    • Oversee business/economic development programs including loan trust funds.
    • Contribute to statewide business development activities with a focus on upstate New York regions.
    • Stay updated on all Capital Access Programs within the department.
    • Produce reports and deliverables for effective program development and service delivery.
    • Research and report on economic development issues related to capital access.
    • Assist in the development and review of program guidelines and proposals.
    • Undertake business/economic development projects and assignments as required.

    Possible Projects:
    Participation in grant programs, tax-based incentives, MWBE initiatives, trade shows, and more.

    Travel Requirement:
    Expect up to thirty percent (30%) travel for this role.
