Description

Duties:
  • Serve as a program analyst for the Office of Commercial Space (AST), Safety Assurance Division (ASA-300) responsible for managing administrative and technical functions like safety inspections, mishap investigations, and Compliance/Enforcements across multiple branches and Division Manager, supporting the FAA AST Headquarters.
  • Act as an individual contributor and/or member of a team for projects/programs within a defined area of responsibility.
  • Utilize experience and detailed knowledge applicable to the discipline to plan and accomplish assignments.
  • Demonstrate independence in planning time and using assigned resources to accomplish tasks or small projects.
  • Primarily have internal contacts within the organizational unit, major subdivision, or LOB/SO with managers and other employees to share information, provide data and/or written analyses, and explain the statuses of assignments.
  • May have frequent contacts with customers and other external parties on routine matters such as gathering information, explaining regulations, and discussing the customers' situations, depending on the specialty.
  • Provide program support and assist managers and professional staff in accomplishing programs like Title 14 CFR PART 400 Commercial Space Transportation, Compliance Monitoring, Mishap Investigation, and Enforcement.
  • Work with more experienced professionals to accomplish tasks.
  • Review work frequently during assignments and at completion to ensure timeliness, policy compliance, and alignment with project requirements.
  • Under general direction, work with AST's safety inspectors on the compilation of data and analysis needed for upcoming inspections and follow-up coordination after an inspection.
  • Gather, review, and input technical data in preparation of reports and analysis for safety program tracking.
  • Submit various reports based on review and analysis and provide support as needed for the Mishap Investigation and Enforcement Programs.
  • Maintain action log and reports on effective dates, clearance requirements, and other statistics such as congressional correspondence, document reviews, monthly reports, etc.
  • Review and process travel arrangements and serve as a timekeeper for the Division and/or branches.

Requirements:
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.

Qualifications:

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE IS DEFINED AS:

  • Experience using database systems and electronic media to enter, revise, track, and store information.
  • Conduct research and collect data and information concerning work processes, administrative and technical programs or procedures from various sources to prepare reports and respond to inquiries.
  • Prepare responses to technical and nontechnical requests for information.
