    Group Claims Specialist - Irvine, United States - Lincoln Financial Group

    Description

    What you'll be doing

  • Communicating with claimants, employers and various medical professionals through phone and e-mail to gather necessary claim information, managing the claim process from the initial request to the return to work.
  • Collaborating with fellow case managers, nurse case managers, and consulting physicians to make appropriate and timely claim determinations.
  • Reviewing complex medical records and effectively leveraging a variety of tools and resources to understand appropriate approval durations and future action planning.
  • Completing accurate financial calculations, where applicable, consistent with company and state guidelines.
  • Providing exceptional customer service and proactively recognizing customer and claimant needs and areas of opportunity.
  • Location: Must be located in the mountain or pacific time zone.
  • Training hours: 7:00 am to 3:30 pm PST
  • Regular hours: An 8-hour shift between the hours of 8:00 am to 6:00 pm PST
  • What we're looking for

    Must-have experience (required):

  • High School or GED
  • 1-2 years of experience in customer service, leaves, or short-term disability
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Nice to have experience (preferred):

  • Absence management experience

  • Pay Range: $ - $; Actual base pay could vary based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln's total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln's standard benefits package.
