- Loading and unloading of trucks using a forklift truck or bridge crane
- Disassembly of gas turbines and sub assembles using hand tools
- Preparation of as-received shortage and condition reports.
- Removing broken bolts and hardware
- Cleaning parts by hand using brushes, scotch brite, wire wheels, varsol and other various cleaning solvents and abrasive blast methods
- Minor modification work such as blending, polishing and replacement of nut plates and bushings
- Buildup of sub and final assemblies using hand tools and precision measuring equipment
- Static and dynamic balance of rotors.
- Dimensional checks, bearing torques, compartment air flow and pressure checks
- Hot oil flow checks of nozzles
- Preparing the final product for shipment
- Special projects as directed by supervision
- Maintains a safe and clean work area and adheres to all housekeeping requirements. Follows all safety procedures and rules and properly wears all safety protective equipment as required
- May be required to drive company vehicles to pick up or deliver parts and tooling
- Mut have excellent mechanical skills, a high level of manual dexterity and hand eye coordination
- Ability to accurately use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators
- Ability to read, interpret, document, and use manufacturer's technical manuals, service bulletins, illustrated parts catalogs, assembly drawings, AOS sheets, and WGPW assembly records

Job DescriptionSUMMARY
Mechanics are responsible for performing intricate disassembly and assembly work GG4A, GG4C jet engines and/or GG8 power gas turbines in accordance with WGPW established methods and practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Equivalent to high school plus additional broad specialized training in an aviation or technical school, military training and one to three years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
MATHMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures such as ratios, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply the basic concepts of algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and shop math as they relate to fits and clearances, running positions and vector analysis.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Airframe & Powerplant License preferred but not required.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, and controls. The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally work in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions or be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, solvents, and oils.
Monday - Friday 7:00AM-3:30PM
40 hours a week with overtime availability
