WHAT WE OFFER

WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Essential Functions Include:
Conducts street outreach to transition-aged youth in a team approach
Provides peer support services to homeless youth with substance abuse disorders
Assists clients in articulating personal goals for recovery through the use of one-to-one and group sessions
Assists clients in determining the steps he/she needs to take in order to achieve goals and self-directed recovery
Provide information and referrals for social service and financial assistance programs, community resources, recovery supports and treatment providers
Assist with linkage tasks, advocacy and accompaniment within the community on an as needed basis
The PRSS will promote community socialization, recovery, self-advocacy, self-help, and development of natural supports.
Completes tracking tools and enters data into agency database
Participate in weekly staff meetings
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATES
Lived experience with homelessness, mental health, and/or substance abuse
Peer Recovery Specialist Certification, or at least 3 years experience in lieu of certification
High School Diploma/GED preferred, but not required
Must have demonstrated the ability to establish and maintain effective person-to-person relationships, skill in oral and written communication, ability to inspire confidence and motivate individuals, and capacity for leadership
Driving is an essential function of this position:

This position performs tasks that may involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. All Hillsides employees are offered the opportunity to receive the Hepatitis B vaccination series.
