Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

The Account Manager is the main point of contact for clients and coordinates, manages, and communicates client expectations and deliverables to the operations team.  This includes overseeing all jobs and projects while providing quality control, reporting, and billing information as required. Account Managers will also support the Business Development team with all aspects of the data management contract and bid process.

Tasks:

  1. Maintain effective communication with clients by providing project updates, delivering demos and training, addressing requests promptly, and scheduling/attending meetings as needed.
  2. Manage and monitor day-to-day workload for assigned clients to ensure all obligations and deliverables are met.
  3. Maintain client contracts and profiles and collaborate with internal teams to ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are clearly understood and consistently adhered to.
  4. Develop project plans and Statements of Work (SOWs), collaborating with business development to prepare proposals and commercial quotes for large-scale projects. Partner with department leads to effectively schedule internal resources.
  5. Prepare monthly internal and external reports, including account status updates, project progress, and contract/price list expiration tracking.
  6. Coordinate and quality-check all client billing to ensure pricing aligns with contractual agreements and all invoicing is completed accurately by month-end.
  7. Provide data-related support, including occasional data loading, quality control to meet client requirements, resolving data issues, and updating client metadata.
  8. Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities within assigned accounts and collaborate with the business development team to close deals.

  • Possesses advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to leverage these tools for complex tasks.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment.   This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands: 

This is a largely sedentary role; however, some types of activities would require the ability to lift, bend, sit, and stand as necessary.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: 

This is a full-time position, located in Houston, TX.  As a full-time position, the Account Manager is eligible to participate in the regional benefits offered to Katalyst employees.

Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. though the expectation is that the Account Manager would be available outside of these hours to respond to critical events or critical client demands.

Travel: 

Travel as required for client meetings, company functions, etc.  Mileage is reimbursable to the employee at the current jurisdictional mandated rate per kilometer. 

Required Education and Experience 

  1. Post-secondary education or related experience
  2. At least two (2) years' experience working in the E&P industry
  3. Knowledge of E&P Data Management requirements and expectations
  4. At least one (1) year working in client-facing role or related experience
