    The Betsy, located on South Beach's iconic Ocean Drive, is considered one of the country's premier independent boutique hotels.     Beyond its 130 elegant guest rooms and suites, the property boasts multiple restaurants by acclaimed Chef Laurent Tourondel as well as a spectacular array of common spaces: the Piano Bar with exceptional live jazz nine times a week, roof decks and terraces with panoramic ocean and skyline views (including a rooftop pool and bar suspended in mid-air), a coffee bar and gallery space home to just some of the hotel's permanent and rotating art exhibitions, a library open 24/7, and a beach-facing front terrace with the best outdoor dining setup in greater Miami.     Summary:

    Food and Beverage Baristas ensure that all guests are served to The Betsy standard in the coffee shop. Baristas take orders and serve food and beverage to guests in a friendly, timely and efficient manner, always displaying the highest standards of hospitality and exceptional knowledge of coffee drinks.

    Responsibilities and Duties Include but Not Limited to the Following:

    • Greets guests and presents them with the menu options, including but not limited to hot or cold beverages, such as coffee, espresso drinks, blended coffees, or teas, sandwiches, pastries, etc.
    • Informs guests about the special items for the day and menu changes, if any.
    • Answers questions about all items on the menu, including specific ingredients and preparation methods. Suggests food and beverage options to the guests by adhering to The Betsy upselling strategy.
    • Takes food and beverage orders from the guest and enters them accurately into the Point of Sale (POS) system. Enters special requirements made by the guests while ordering the food utilizing The Betsy's special requirements standard codes.
    • Utilizes the POS system to obtain guest revenues, issue receipts, accept payments, and return the change to guests.
    • Prepares and serves food and beverage to the guest as per the course of the order, adhering to the proper standard ticket times set by The Betsy.
    • Observes guests and ensures their satisfaction with the food and service quality. Promptly responds to guests with any additional requests.
    • Maintains proper dining experience by delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, offering additional items, and clearing tables.
    • Coordinates with the Kitchen Staff to ensure smooth operation and guest satisfaction.
    • Adheres to The Betsy grooming and appearance standards consistently.
    • Understands and can communicate products and services available at The Betsy.
    • Stocks and maintains the coffee shop par stock levels.
    • Occasionally serves as a Service Barista at the restaurant and prepares specialty coffee drinks for Restaurant Servers.
    • If requested by a supervisor, prints closing reports and drops cash following proper cash handling procedures. Tallies the credit card settlements for the day with the batch closing report from EDC machine.
    • Closes the shift on the POS terminal.
    • Performs additional tasks as required by management.

    Job Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
    • Prior experience as a Barista in a high volume coffee shop or restaurant preferred.
    • Must be able to:
      • Speak, read, write, and understand the English. Spanish is desirable;
      • Use a point of sale system and related devices;
      • Follow detailed instruction;
      • Work well with others;
      • Work independently.
    • Must be:
      • Detail-oriented;
      • Organized;
      • Professional;
      • Friendly.
