Deputy District Attorney Annual Salaries
- Deputy District Attorney I: $71,630 - $87,100 Annually
- Deputy District Attorney II: $83,616 - $101,634 Annually

The Fresno County District Attorney's Office presents exciting career opportunities for legal professionals as Deputy District Attorneys I/II/III/IV.
The District Attorney's Office oversees the prosecution of criminal violations, conducts investigations, and files legal actions. Deputy District Attorneys handle criminal/civil cases, interview witnesses, review evidence, and perform legal research. The position entails various responsibilities assigned by the District Attorney.
Deputy District Attorney roles involve light physical activity and may require standing or walking for extended periods.
Applicants must meet essential qualifications for each Deputy District Attorney level.
Minimum Qualifications
- Deputy District Attorney I:
- Active membership in the State Bar of California.
- Deputy District Attorney II:
- Active membership in the State Bar of California.
- One year of full-time, paid attorney experience.
- Deputy District Attorney III:
- Active membership in the State Bar of California.
- Two years of full-time, paid attorney experience.
- Deputy District Attorney IV:
- Active membership in the State Bar of California.
- Three years of full-time, paid attorney experience.

PERFORMANCE ALLOWANCE DEPUTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY IV/SENIOR
Outstanding Deputy District Attorney IV/Seniors may receive performance allowances based on their specialized assignments:
- Homicide Unit: $500 per pay period
- MAGEC Gang Unit: $400 per pay period
- Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Unit: $300 per pay period
- Other specialized assignments: $120 per pay period
SPECIALIZATION INCENTIVE
Attorneys who achieve certification as Criminal Law or Domestic Law Specialists receive a 3.5% salary increase.
OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTINGS/IN-CUSTODY DEATHS
Senior Deputy District Attorneys assigned to the Officer Involved Shooting Team earn additional compensation per assignment.
