- Hourly Pay (Time and a half after 40)

- Operate equipment in a safe manner following DOT regulations and company policies and regulations.
- Drive commercial vehicles to pick up and transport waste to a designated location safely while meeting scheduled appointments and following all DOT regulations.
- Ensure placarding of the vehicle meets DOT regulations.
- Completes paperwork including, but not limited to, expense reports, timesheets, vehicle inspection reports, manifests, and job sheets.
- Conducts the required DOT pre-trip/post trip inspection on equipment such as: tires, lights, brakes, hoses, and fluids.
- Inspects all containers on loads to verify proper labeling, marking, and segregation.
- Secure cargo prior to and during transit.
- Complete additional assigned duties.
- High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred
- Covanta offers GED Works - a fully funded program for employees to achieve their GED.
- Must be 21 years or older, due to interstate travel in a commercial vehicle and federal regulations.
- Minimum (1) year of commercial driving experience.
- CDL Class A
- Tanker and HazMat endorsement preferred (candidate will be expected to obtain the endorsements as a condition of employment after hire)
- Must be able to drive manual transmission
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to use a tablet for E-Logs.
- Abide by standard DOT regulations at all times.

About the roleSIGN-ON BONUS - $5,000 (1/3 after 1 month, 1/3 after 6 months, 1/3 after 1 year)
The CDL Driver will perform duties associated with labeling, marking, packaging, loading/unloading, and the transportation of hazardous and non-hazardous waste between Covanta facilities and the client's sites.
Drivers will have the opportunity to operate a variety of equipment including vacuum tankers, vacuum trucks, vans, and walking floor.
