Position Summary
The Compliance Auditor will support leadership in the personal property compliance review process by reviewing and approving returns, funding, bills, check requests, and reports.
Review and approve returns prepared by team members
Document filing/reporting errors and communicate inconsistencies with Analyst and Supervisor/Manager
Review and approve exception reports submitted weekly by Analysts and ensure PTCA is updated accordingly
Review and approve funding's prepared by Analysts prior to submitting to client
Review and approve Tax Bills/Check Requests in PTMS, OneSource & PowerPlan
Create AP exports out of PTMS, OneSource & PowerPlan for PTCA and Solomon
Release Check Batches and Request for Checks to be printed through Solomon
Review and approve client billings and return mailer packets
Review tax payments exceeding $10,000 prior to mailing
Monitor PTCA database for both internal and jurisdictional deadlines ensuring department is meeting tasks timely and monitor internal controls
Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Present completed returns to management for review by assigned due date
Prepare tax payments on behalf of clients for jurisdictional liabilities
Monitor and review all jurisdictional tax notices for assigned clients by assigned due date
Monitor and review the analyst's scan's folders to ensure items are being broken out in a timely manner
Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Qualifications
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
3+ years' experience with DMA or in a similar position in the tax/accounting/auditing industry
Ability to work well under pressure
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to be assertive with other employees to ensure deadlines are met
Organization and the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
Intermediate to advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
PTMS (Property Tax Management System) experience and technical tax background preferred
