- Billing and Coding
- Review and analyze patient records to ensure accurate coding of procedures and diagnoses
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of claims to insurance companies
- Follow Up
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding claims to facilitate prompt reimbursement
- Contact insurance companies to resolve billing issues, denials, and discrepancies; submit appeals when necessary
- Respond to inquiries from insurance companies and provider teams
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve patient issues and ensure a positive patient experience
- Stay informed of payer regulations, coding updates and insurance policies
- Documentation
- Maintain accurate and up to date documentation of billing and follow-up activities
- Collaborate and document processes and workflows to help streamline and create efficiencies to help with complex billing, coding, and payer issues
- 40 hours per week
- Monday through Thursday 8:30am-5:30pm & Friday 9:00am-3:00pm
- HS Diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in a related field is preferred
- Previous experience in healthcare billing, medical coding, or revenue cycle management
- Knowledge of healthcare billing practices, insurance regulations, and coding standards
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of the team, attention to detail and ability to research
- Proficiency in using billing software and electronic health record systems
