    The Opportunity


    As part of the QBE global cyber leadership team, contribute to the development, build, communication and oversight of a globally consistent cyber strategy for product and underwriting, designed to move QBE into a position as a relevant global cyber market.

    Primary Responsibilities


    • Develop and maintain global product offering strategy
    • Develop SME strategy to sit within larger global strategy and oversee the deployment into regions.
    • Build out business plan in coordination with QBE Ventures and divisional leaders.
    • Responsible for account escalations, product, appetite and guideline decisions which are outside of the divisional authority.
    • Manage strategic relationships/partnerships, internally and externally, that will help drive QBE's cyber underwriting strategy, including cyber vendors such as data providers, scanning vendors, technical underwriting consultants.
    • Support divisions in cyber MGA/MGUs and cyber TPAs relationship and program portfolios.
    • Work with key internal and external partners to measure, monitor and manage cyber aggregation and CAT exposures;
    • Contribute to reinsurance agreements, submission material, market meetings and reinsurer relationships;
    • Manage the continuous improvement and enhancement of the global risk assessment framework used by all cyber underwriters globally;
    • Oversee the continuous improvement of the global cyber pricing tool as the global representative from leadership team, in collaboration with pricing team;
    • Ensure effective and efficient access to risk assessment, pricing and efficiency tools for underwriters in every region.
    • Develop, implement and maintain a training academy for underwriters across the company working closely with divisional leads and including an onboarding program for new underwriters to assure a consistent experience across divisions for new cyber joiners.
    • Develop and maintain ongoing training of underwriters and brokers on product offerings as well as market trends and controls updates.
    • Manage global cyber secondees
    • Manage thought leadership campaigns both externally and internally to assist QBE in elevating QBE's Cyber Brand, with a focus on being visible in the market as a subject matter expert.
    • Manage wording and policy changes in line with developing trends and/or where needed to satisfy regulatory and external stakeholder requirements
    • Develop a reporting mechanism to cascade trends and alerts to senior executives, claims teams, underwriting teams and clients in a proactive manner
    • Lead development of a formal process for claims and underwriting collaboration and information sharing.
    Required Education


    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience

    • Extensive experience within an appropriate underwriting discipline within the insurance industry
    • Proven experience of interpreting business strategy and translating into functional / portfolio strategy
    • Significant experience of managing relationships with internal stakeholders and business clients
    • Strong track record of delivering business plan / financial results
    • Use of risk profiling and pricing tools and loss models
    Preferred Knowledge


    • Advanced working knowledge of Cyber insurance underwriting and products
    • Advanced working knowledge of complex state and federal regulatory requirements for multiple regions
    • Advanced working knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic
    • planning, resource allocation, leadership technique and coordination of people and resources
    • Advanced working knowledge of project management and continuous improvement methodologies
    • Advanced working knowledge of market competition and complex insurance principles, trends, best practices
    • Excellent understanding of class specific underwriting and reinsurance knowledge
    • Strong knowledge of statutory/ regulatory regime
    • High level of understanding of relevant market and influential factors
    • Suitable understanding of financial and actuarial principles to assess risk

    Compensation

    Base pay offered will vary depending on, but not limited to education, experience, skills, geographic location and business needs


    Annual Salary Range:
    $217,000-$325,000

    Annual Salary Range: $239,000 - $358,000

    CA (Remote, Fresno, Irvine and Woodland), Greenwood Village CO, CT, Chicago IL, MA, MD, NY (Remote), RI, Houston TX and WA

    Annual Salary Range: $271,000 - $406,000

    San Francisco CA, NJ and New York City NY
