Summary


The Room Inspector and Trainer is responsible for the operation of the Housekeeping Department during assigned shift, and the direct supervision of Guest Room Attendants.

The top priority of the Room Inspector and Trainer is to assure a superior guest experience in regards to cleanliness of the hotel facility.

This job plays a critical role in achieving the product goals of Cache Creek Casino Resort and in the development of people and experience.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Directs and participates in all functions of the Housekeeping department during assigned shift to ensure maximum cleanliness of Cache Creek Casino Resort hotel facilities.
  • Inspects the cleaning of guest rooms to achieve a high level of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
  • Works with and trains Guest Room Attendants to ensure daily tasks are completed timely and accurately.
  • Inspects housekeeping carts and closets to ensure they are properly stocked.
  • Ensures cleanliness of all trash chute rooms, hotel hallways, stairwells and elevators by delegating daily assigned work to House Persons or other staff.
  • Communicates with the Front Office staff of any housekeeping delays or issues and makes necessary changes to room status.
  • Supervises assigned personnel and shift, overseeing and ensuring consistent standards performance.
  • Obtains list of rooms to be cleaned daily, focusing on rooms needed by the front desk through the day.
  • Makes recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient operation.
  • Attends staff meetings to discuss company policies and guest complaints.
  • Works with House Persons to ensure that all Guest Room Attendants have the necessary items to clean, restock, and maintain the rooms assigned to them.
  • Ensures shift is operated in a manner to consistently achieve the standards set forth by management to ensure total guest satisfaction and exceptional product/property cleanliness. Report broken items/torn or stained items.
  • Maintains positive, friendly and caring attitude with arriving and departing guests, department personnel, colleagues and other property personnel.
  • Executes regular training and development of the team to ensure consistent delivery of high quality product maintenance and cleanliness.
  • Assures safety and security policies and procedures are consistently followed.
  • Maintains a professional appearance reflective of the hotel image and conduct behavior in a mature and professional manner.
  • Provides ongoing coaching and guidance to ensure consistency of service quality.
  • Advises management with the development of training materials and programs to meet the needs of the hotel.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises Guest Room Attendants in the Housekeeping department.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures and applicable laws to include training employees, assigning and directing work, evaluating performance, and addressing complaints and disciplinary problems.

Education and/or Experience
Six months previous experience a Guest Room Attendant or supervisory experience in Housekeeping or similar environment.


Language Skills

Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


Reasoning Ability

Age Requirement
Must be at least 18 years of age.
