- Assists in the preparation of accurate, competitive construction bids by utilizing the latest state-of-the-art equipment.
- Directly contributes to the success of the company by working with the Estimating Team and Management to to build and sustain relationships with clients.
- Works closely with the department to maintain estimating data, establish and maintain standardized estimating practices, and foster a solid team approach within the department.
- Education:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Bachelor's degree in a construction or engineering related discipline preferred (or equivalent combination of related field trade experience/training/education)
- Experience: Must have a minimum of 5 years of significant sheetmetal construction estimating experience (non-residential), including for large projects, while employed by a sheetmetal contractor is required. General contractors or roles coordinating with sheetmetal subcontractors do not meet this requirement.
- Experience with computerized estimating programs required.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Able to comprehend applicable construction documents.
- Work well in team atmosphere.
- Computer Skills: Must have accurate typing skills and be proficient in using database, email, internet, spreadsheet, and word processing applications, and be willing to learn new software applications.
- Must be able to satisfactorily pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
- Must be able to satisfactorily pass a motor vehicle record check. Must be able to meet P1 qualifications to operate a vehicle on company business. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must possess a valid driver's license. Must have access to drive a well maintained vehicle. Must have up to date registration with the local Department of Motor Vehicles. Both the candidate and the vehicle must be currently covered on a personal insurance policy.
