The surgery unit has29 beds. Our dynamic patient population includes surgical, traumaand a variety of medical patients. Our surgeries typically involvethe neck to the gut. This population includes GI surgeries such ascolon resections, small bowel resections, cholecystectomies andappendectomies. We also care for vascular surgeries, mastectomies,thyroidectomies and maxillofacial procedures, etc. Patients mayhave an ostomy, NGT and/or other feeding tube and/or drains.
Traumapatients may have multiple injuries, chest tubes, a tracheostomyand/or other drains, but have stabilized enough for a non-ICU/stepdown med-surg floor admission.
We are a level 2 traumacenter.Come join ourenergetic team of nurses, patient care techs and secretariesdedicated to patient safety, focused on developing professionalrelationships with the entire care team and growing our staff intothe PAR leaders oftomorrow
RESPONSIBLE FOR:
The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients frombirth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to
assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care forpatients. He/she functions within the framework of the
policies and procedures of the organization anddemonstrates professional growth and accountability. The
staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards ofpractice, coordinating patient care activities of all
assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.
Qualifications:
MINIMUMEDUCATION REQUIRED:
Graduate of a nursingprogram
MINIMUM EXPERIENCEREQUIRED:
New Graduates of a nursing programeligible
MINIMUMLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
CurrentLicense in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLCMultistate License.
BLS certificationrequired.
ADDITIONALQUALIFICATIONS:
For PRN positions:
One year ofnursing experience in a hospital setting preferred
Bachelors degree preferred
Advancedcertification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)
Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred
