    Fulltime Night Shift(7pm-7am)

    The surgery unithas 29 beds. Our dynamic patient population includes surgical,trauma and a variety of medical patients. Our surgeries typicallyinvolve the neck to the gut. This population includes GI surgeriessuch as colon resections, small bowel resections, cholecystectomiesand appendectomies. We also care for vascular surgeries,mastectomies, thyroidectomies and maxillofacial procedures, etc.
    Patients may have an ostomy, NGT and/or other feeding tube and/ordrains.

    Trauma patients may have multiple injuries, chest tubes, atracheostomy and/or other drains, but have stabilized enough for anon-ICU/step down med-surg floor admission.

    We are a level 2 traumacenter.

    RESPONSIBLE FOR:


    The staff nurse provides nursing care topatients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursingprocesses to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care forpatients.

    He/she functions within the framework of the policies andprocedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growthand accountability.

    The staff nurse is responsible for maintainingstandards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of allassigned staff in the provision of quality nursingcare.

    Qualifications:


    MINIMUMEDUCATION REQUIRED:

    Graduate of a nursingprogram


    MINIMUM EXPERIENCEREQUIRED:

    New Graduates of a nursing programeligible

    MINIMUMLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:

    CurrentLicense in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLCMultistate License.
    BLS certificationrequired.


    ADDITIONALQUALIFICATIONS:

    For PRN positions:

    One year ofnursing experience in a hospital setting preferred
    Bachelor's degree preferred
    Advancedcertification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)
    Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred
