    This position is located at the DMV Headquarters in Sacramento.

The Customer Service Resolution Unit is seeking a passionate Senior Motor Vehicle Technician (SMVT) with excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to evaluate situations accurately and make effective, timely decisions that prevent the escalation of customer issues.

    Under the direction of the Manager I, the Senior Motor Vehicle Technician (SMVT) interprets, analyzes, and applies complex provisions of the California Vehicle Code and other laws, administrative regulations, policies, and technical procedures to make determinations and resolve issues; corresponds with multiple stakeholders regarding escalated customer complaints and critical corrections with professionalism and tact; and identifies and suggests process improvements.

The Salary Range shown is the minimum and maximum for a full-time appointment. Moving and relocation expenses will not be reimbursed for this position.

    Working Conditions

    Part-time telework available. Telework requires California residency.

    Works in a climate-controlled office in a cubicle adjacent to other employees. Works under various lighting conditions with exposure to computer screens and various, up to excessive levels of noise. Ability to use modern office equipment such as a personal computer, copy machine, printer, and 10-key. May work rotational schedule. May be required to work mandatory overtime.
