This is a 100% limited position for 3 months with the possibility of extension or conversion to career status.

DESCRIPTION:


Reporting to the Assistant Director, First Year Application Review, the Summer Validation Specialist is an entry-level professional who provides support for the annual transcript review and validation process for the incoming class.

In this role, the Specialist applies professional admissions and recruitment concepts by assisting with recruitment efforts and/or preparing admissions materials.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Ability to conduct individual evaluations and assessments of transcripts.
  • Basic knowledge of a university, and the ability to explain basic information to prospective applicants and the public. Ability to interpret broadly written guidelines and use independent judgment in confirming admission decisions based on provisions of admission.
  • Basic knowledge of academic programs, including curricula, admissions requirements at UC. Ability to recognize inconsistencies in academic records including duplication of course content, repetition and falsification
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, discretion and exercise good judgment in handling sensitive and confidential matters
  • Basic knowledge and experience working with a diverse student population.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS:


  • Duties may require direct contact with children (defined as individuals under the age of 18). Completion of the Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA) form is required.
  • Occasional overtime and weekends may be required.
  • Job offer is contingent upon a satisfactory clearance based on background check results.
  • Due to the nature of this position and access to student record data, confidentiality is of utmost importance.

Annual Full Pay Range:
$52,100 - $87,900 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)


Hourly Equivalent:
$ $42.10

The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
