    Description

    A professional services firm in New York City is actively seeking an experienced Tax professional to join their team in a Senior and/or Supervisory position. In this role, the Senior Tax Associate will be primarily responsible for preparing and reviewing complex individual, trust, partnership, not-for-profit, S corporate, C corporate and foreign tax returns.

    Responsibilities:

    The Senior Tax Associate will:

    • Run client engagements from start to finish, which includes planning, executing, directing, and completing tax projects and managing to budget
    • Supervise, train, and mentor associates and interns on tax projects and assess performance of staff for engagement reviews
    • Review tax returns done by staff and make recommendations on return preparation regarding accuracy and tax savings opportunities
    • Prepare tax returns for more complex individual, trust, partnership, corporate, and foreign tax clients
    • Research and consult on various tax matters; utilize tax-related software to prepare and process returns and research tax matters
    • Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities
    • Perform other duties, as needed
    Qualifications:
    • 2+ years of progressive Tax Return Preparation and Compliance experience
    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
    • Strong tax accounting skills
    • Proficiency in US GAAP, Tax Compliance, Corporate Consolidated Returns, Consolidated Federal Tax Returns, Partnership Returns, and combined State Tax Return
    • Working knowledge of Tax software, ProSystems and CCH
    • Microsoft Office Suite proficient
    • Solid analytical, mathematical, and research skills
    • Great interpersonal skills
    • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Highly organized
    Desired Skills:
    • Master's Degree in Taxation
    • CPA or parts passed
    • Previous experience in a Public Accounting role/setting
