Summary

This position is located in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Ocean Service (NOS), Office for Coastal Management (OCM) with one vacancy in Charleston, SC or Silver Spring, MD.

This is a term appointment not to exceed 13 months with possible extensions up to a total of 4 years without further competition. Appointment to this position will not convey permanent status in the Federal service.

Duties

The salary range for each duty location is as follows:

Charleston, SC: $72,553 - $113,047

Silver Spring, MD: $82,764 - $128,956

As a Training Specialist, you will perform the following duties:

Support selection and administration of instructional technologies. Ensure compliance with government Information Technology (IT) and seamless functioning with complementary service delivery platform requirements. Support the installation, testing, integration, administration, and maintenance of learning technology systems and work collaboratively with other National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) offices. Support government contracts with learning technology service providers.

Document and follow technical processes and protocols for the development of eLearning products, including product testing, deployment, maintenance and life cycle management. Collaborate to administer product repositories on onsite and cloud servers. Manage accessible and IT security-compliant learning products. Support annual planning and implementation of eLearning product development and technology resource needs.

Work collaboratively to articulate technical requirements of the Digital Coast Academy website that will enhance user access and learning experience. Employ evaluation techniques and web analytics to report on improving the service delivery of Digital Coast Academy products.

Develop eLearning products based on industry best practices and adult learning theory. Translate and document learning requirements used to develop technically sound and innovative on-demand and blended learning products to meet coastal community resilience and climate adaptation needs.
