Role Definition:

Evaluates commercial loan requests by reviewing applicants' credit histories and analyzing financial statements in order to approve or deny loan applications.

Responsibilities:

Reviews the credit history, profitability and liquidity of clients to assess the risk level involved in credit extension or money lending.
Consults with customers to verify financial and credit transactions; responds to customer inquiries and resolves customer complaints.
Communicates with credit associations and other relevant authorities about the credit history of customers.
Analyzes financial data to determine customers' risk profile for commercial loans; recommends approval or denial of loan applications.

Skills and Experience:

Works with balance sheets and income statements to evaluate credit worthiness.
Selects examples of common red and green flags.
knowledge of working with balance sheets, income statements, and cash flows in the analysis process.
Examines financial statement for validity and general correctness; highlights problems or issues.
Approaches a situation or problem by defining the problem or issue and determining its significance.
Uses logic and intuition to make inferences about the meaning of the data and arrive at conclusions.
Knowledge of basic financial and accounting concepts and terminology.
Knowledge of basic tools and techniques used to perform credit analysis.
Learns from mistakes and applies lessons learned.
Utilizes specific approaches and tools for checking and cross-checking outputs.
Maintains and updates information in various application channels and loan origination systems.
Verifies collected customer loan information to ensure accuracy.

Degree Requirement:

A 4-year college or university degree in any discipline and a minimum of 2 years exempt experience in credit, customer services, collections, financial statement analysis and/or a related discipline is recommended.

Additional Information:

This role is a hybrid position and would require any successful candidate to commit to a minimum of 3 day per week in office requirement.
