Software Development Engineering - Sr Professional II
What does a successful DevOps Engineer do at Fiserv?
As an expert in enterprise continuous integration, deployment and delivery you will assist our team in implementing a common CI vision to be utilized across a variety of languages, platforms and infrastructure including hosted, private cloud, public cloud and hybrid models.
You will be responsible for evaluating current processes, applying best practices and socializing changes, build management, automated deployments, and automated testing.
The goal of our DevOps Engineer is to automate the build and deployment processes to be more reliable, reusable, consistent, easy to establish, thus enabling development teams to focus on delivering code more frequently with confidence.
What You Will DoWork with teams to build and establish CI + CD, automating modern and legacy applications
Evangelize, communicate and be a champion for proper source control, build consistency, test automation, integrating with cyber tools for code scanning, and deployment strategies across many development teams
Enforce best practices and assist in the development/implementation of an CI/CD roadmap
Develop processes in support of versioning, build, testing, deployment et al.
Leverage strong technical background and effective communication skills in order to drive DevOps adoption across multiple departments, including development, operations, customer support, account management and FTS
Work with development and operations to continue to educate and evolve the DevOps best practices to take advantage of new features that may provide a more secure, scalable and highly available platform for our customers.
Interact with other departments in a positive, constructive manner in order to accomplish tasks and overall job responsibilitiesPromptly complete administrative tasks as required such as time reporting, project status tracking and billable requests.
What You Will Need To Have
5+ years of overall IT experience
Bachelor's Degree in information technology or similar area of study
Solid understanding of best practices in support of CI/CD including branching strategies
Firm grasp of common deployment strategies including blue/green, zero-downtime deployment, traffic shaping, canary and rollback
Experience designing and building automation solutions.
CI Server – Jenkins, TeamCity
Artifact Repositories – Artifactory, Nexus
Source Control – Git, SVN, TFS
Build Tools – Team Foundation Server (TFS), MSBuild, Ant, Maven, Gradle
Web Server – IIS, Apache
Automated Functional Testing – Selenium, Cucumber, Sauce Labs, HP Unified Functional Testing
Automated Performance Testing – LoadRunner, Gatling, NeoLoad, Newman, JMeter
Static Security Analysis – AppScan, Fortify, Veracode
Static Quality Analysis – SonarQube, Cast, CodeClimate
Experience / proficiency in Azure/AWS CLIs and APIs
Deployment – Bash, Ansible, Octopus
Containerization – Docker, Kubernetes, PCF, PKS
5+ years experience with development, programming, and testing knowledge/background
Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, with a preference for .NET languages and java
What Would Be Great To Have
Prior experience working in Banking Industry/Financial Services
Experience with configuration management tools like ansible
Excellent scripting knowledge and ability to execute through Python, Bash/Shell, PowerShell, Go, yaml, json, helm etc
Good understanding of common principals related to computing, networks, firewall, security and authentication
Ability to work and influence across functional teams with different mind sets, cultures, operating styles and decision-making frameworks
This role is not eligible to be performed in Colorado, California, New York or Washington.
