- Coordinate the scheduling and dispatching of construction crews, equipment, and materials to project sites.
- Monitor the progress of construction projects and adjust dispatching schedules as needed to ensure timely completion.
- Communicate with construction supervisors, project managers, and subcontractors to coordinate resources and resolve scheduling conflicts.
- Track inventory levels of construction materials and equipment and reorder supplies as needed.
- Assist with the coordination of transportation logistics, including arranging for delivery of materials and equipment to project sites.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatching activities, including job assignments, equipment usage, and inventory levels.
- Respond to emergencies and unplanned events by quickly reassigning resources and adjusting schedules to minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies regarding the use and maintenance of construction equipment and vehicles.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in construction management or logistics is preferred.
- Proven experience as a dispatcher or in a similar role, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and multitask effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees, customers, and vendors.
- Proficiency in computer software programs such as Microsoft Office and construction management software.
- Knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and terminology.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
