    Description

    Reporting to the SVP of Supply Chain and Business Development, this position will be responsible for the day to day activities specific to BCA and national GPO supplier contract relationships including managing blood center inquiries and tasks within this business unit. In this role, you will identify, develop, coordinate and implement supplier contracts working with blood center Materials Directors and Purchasing Managers driving contract savings and increased revenue. In addition, a primary responsibility will be to oversee and manage the Third Party Logistics (3PL) operations, adding new product categories to be distributed in this program to increase overall program value and efficiency. This model is critical to support a fragile supplier infrastructure to the blood centers for key items and encompasses millions of dollars of inventory on behalf of the blood centers.

    The candidate must be successful in understanding the technical requirements of multiple agreements and assisting members with contract optimization and contract compliance.

    Occasional participation in national/regional blood banking conferences, cell and gene therapy meetings, and committees related to the Supply Chain industry may also be necessary.

    INCUMBENT CONTACTS:

    Internally: SVP Supply Chain, SVP Contracting & Business Development, Sr. Director Supply Chain Contracting, Manager of Contracting and Accounting staff.

    Externally: Supply Chain, Facilities and Logistics Managers at Blood Centers. Regional and Local Sales Director's and Sr. Management level staff of national corporations.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    · Primary Lead as Manager of the BCA/3PL operation.

    · Pursues and maintains business relationships that result in compliance and optimization of the group purchasing agreements;

    · Acts as liaison between contracted supply partners and members, understanding and balancing needs of both and influencing members' behavior toward fulfillment of corporate objectives, and financial and productivity goals;

    · Manage overall prospective pipeline of member and national organizations to drive contract sales growth;

    · Accountable for supply chain team contract revenue goals, team member savings and team tracking metrics;

    · Obtains members or prospective members product files to conduct contract spend analysis:

    · Works directly with supply partners to develop and/or enhance related contracts, quarterly promotions, marketing material;

    · Acts as a liaison between suppliers and members, initiating cost improvement and supply chain efficiency efforts and monitoring contract costs;

    · Supports Senior VP and Sr. Director in developing benchmarks and reports;

    · Sustains relationships with members, suppliers and customers to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction and loyalty;

    MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

    · Projects and monitors contract compliance to include supplier admin fee reporting reconciliation;

    · Periodically obtain and update membership list, work with BCA's GPO partner to ensure both membership list are accurately reflected for supplier reporting.

    · Resolves conflicts and remove obstacles so that members can meet contract obligations;

    · Assists blood center staff with interpretation of clients' product needs/specifications and assists with implementation of new procedures related to sourcing through BCA agreements;

    · Ability to work cross functionally in support of BCA, Member priorities.

    REQUIREMENTS

    · Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred

    · 3-5 years of related experience in supply chain in a related industry preferred

    Qualifications:

    · Ability to influence and develop relationships vertically and horizontally within member facilities

    · Prior experience prospecting for new member opportunities, building strategic offerings and executing;

    · Proposal writing and cost proposals experience preferred;

    · Ability to travel regularly throughout the year to meet member needs.

    · Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

    · Ability to resolve conflict and problem solving capabilities;

    · Adept at persuading and influencing behavior toward company's vision and program growth

    · Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment;

    · Effective organizational skills and attention to detail;

    · Knowledge of contracts and legal terms helpful; ability to analyze data in support of contract negotiations.

    · PC skills Word, Excel, MS Office;

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS:

    Remote work is available for a candidate who does not reside within a reasonable commuting distance of BCA's headquarters in West Warwick, RI; 20%-30% of overnight travel required.
