    Platform QA Engineer, Technology Solutions

    100% Remote within California, Must reside in California


    We are seeking a Platform QA Engineer to join the Foundation in its mission of benefitting, supporting, and enhancing the California Community Colleges—the largest and most diverse system of higher education in the nation.

    What You'll Do


    The Platform QA Engineer, Technology Solutions is responsible for designing and implementing test solutions to validate the functionality, performance, stability, usability, and accessibility of a wide range of web-based and mobile-native applications.

    This includes creating data sets, documenting test plans, scripting and executing test cases, evaluating test results, and participating in the continuous integration, release and build management.


    The ideal candidate will have extensive experience conducting Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) audits, generating compliance data, and providing recommendations for remediation.


    The Platform QA Engineer, Technology Solutions will establish and manage traceability of requirements through test plans and cases, and work closely with developers and product owners to manage QA and Accessibility across the portfolio of the Technology Solutions department.

    Define, document, and support QA & Accessibility best practices, and standards.

    Create test cases, and lead executions for manual testing in collaboration with the QA Lead, Product Owners, and Eng teams.

    Guide and train team members as needed.
    Establish standards for both manual and automated testing, and review scripts regularly to ensure adherence and advise on optimization.
    Perform API level testing, system testing, functional testing, and UI testing.
    Research, identify, and implement new test automation solutions.
    Collaborate with Product Owners to identify and prioritize tests for automation.
    Consume design artifacts and develop test automations with the following characteristics:

    Durable for consistent execution within CI/CD integration.
    Well documented, easily maintained and executed by other team members, including developers, product, program, and support specialists.
    Provide consistent test data use and an interface with test data management tools and processes, where applicable.

    Attributes for Success


    Strong attention to detail with a high-level of accuracy; ensures that all communications, deliverables, and work products are accurate, professional, and audience appropriate while adhering to the organization's brand and style guides.

    Ability to work remotely and navigate various technology platforms (Zoom, MS Office Suite, Teams, Outlook, Salesforce Lightning and other database programs, Google Suite, etc.)
    Knowledge of Agile project management methodologies and techniques (Scrum, Kanban, etc.), as well as other disciplines of project management.
    Technical support experience with incident/change management, and problem resolution.
    Selenium and Appium based automation experience preferred.
    Proficiency with Python, Chef, Groovy, or equivalent scripting language.
    Experience with test case and test management software, ie: TestRail, QMetry, etc.
    Proficiency in HTML5, CSS, JavaScript and Regular Expressions is a plus.
    Working experience with XML testing technologies
    Atlassian products, including JIRA, Confluence

    Budgeted Annual Salary Pay Range:
    $85, $100,000.00

    Final salary and rates are based on education, experience, skills relevant to the role, and internal equity.
