- Conduct individual and group engagement activities for residents as well as assist with special community events
- Plan and coordinate activities
- Maintain the monthly calendar of activities and events that provide a variety of resident and family-centered experiences
- Prepare the monthly newsletter The ideal candidate should have a passion for working with active senior adults and adults with Alzheimer's and Dementia; be comfortable, creative, upbeat, positive, and happy in working with groups of people; and have at least one year of job-related experience preferably in a senior living environment. *Arbor Terrace Morris Plains* is an Assisted Living and Memory Care community located in Morris Plains, NJ The *Activity Director* is responsible for leading the community's assisted living and memory care activity programs which include the development and implementation programming geared towards a variety of individual abilities and interests. This position also includes supervising other members of the activity staff. A top-notch *Activity Director* is someone who is creative and strategic when it comes to developing and implementing goals, able to quickly adapt when faced with change, energetic and able to positively influence others in a supportive manner, and customer service oriented with great written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and computer skills, as well as a team work attitude, are a must. Prior senior living experience is a plus, but not required. We are seeking an energetic, creative, self-directed Engagement and Lifestyle Director. In this position, you will be responsible for implementing, supervising, and participating in activities in our senior living community.Other responsibilities will be:
