    Marcum Search is assisting our Private Equity Owned Distribution client in their search for a Corporate Controller in Richmond Heights, OH.

    Position Summary

    The Corporate Controller is a key member of the finance leadership team, responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial reporting, analysis, compliance, and controls. This role oversees a team of 9 individuals and plays a pivotal role in driving financial strategy, optimizing performance, and ensuring the company's financial health and integrity.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities

    Oversee the preparation and analysis of accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

    Ensure compliance with GAAP and other applicable accounting standards.

    Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting activities. Collaborate with department heads to develop realistic financial plans and targets. Monitor performance against budget and forecast, analyzing variances, and identifying areas for improvement.

    Key strategic leader in our mergers and acquisitions. This position will be heavily involved in pre and post diligence as well as converting the acquisitions finance team into our team.

    Provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making by senior management.

    Analyze key performance metrics, trends, and drivers of financial performance. Develop financial models to evaluate business opportunities and investments.

    Establish and maintain effective internal controls over financial reporting to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

    Conduct periodic reviews and assessments of internal control procedures, recommending enhancements as needed.

    Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and tax requirements.

    Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors for the completion of annual audits, tax filings, and other regulatory submissions.

    Stay abreast of changes in accounting and tax regulations that may impact the company.

    Monitor and analyze manufacturing and operating costs to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

    Partner with operations and supply chain teams to optimize cost structures while maintaining product quality and customer satisfaction.

    Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to support the company's operational and strategic objectives. Develop cash flow forecasts and strategies to optimize cash utilization and maximize returns on investments.

    Evaluate, implement, and optimize financial systems, processes, and controls to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.

    Leverage technology solutions to streamline financial reporting, analysis, and decision support.

    Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to team members. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the finance function.

    Requirements

    Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification preferred.

    7+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial position.

    Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting standards, and internal control frameworks.

    Proven track record of financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting in a complex business environment.

    Experience with ERP systems and financial software (Microsoft Dynamics) preferred.

    Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

    Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations.

    Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
